10 weeks old

I have exciting news to fill out in Zoe's "A Book About Me", she has found her thumb!!  It has been a long 10 weeks of holding her in the baby bjorn and her sleeping in our bed.  It is so exciting.   She now settles herself.  I feel as though I have all this time on my hands.  I should take the time to fill out her baby book.

It could not have come at a better time, we are on count down.  Counting down until The Master Plan arrives, count down until Life inStyle Trade Fair, count down until a well deserved family holiday and count down until October 6th when The Master Plan starts!!

I am in need of a diary that has a spot for each child.  With Emily starting school next year and having orientation days and parents nights, Georgia having play dates and Zoe having immunisations and check ups and I am looking forward to being organised and being able to look a week in advance.  Plus all my appointments!!  I have a blackberry, but it just does not cut it when it comes to ensuring the family are organised.

Keep your eyes peeled for The Master Plan!!

Very important Grandparents

I had a deep and meaningful conversation with my lovely beautician Fil this morning. She was saying how pleased she was that she bought A Book About Me for her niece Giselle when she was born. Giselle's grandfather wrote a beautiful message to her on her birth. He passed away recently just after Giselle's first birthday, and while she won't remember how her grandfather doted on her, she has a special message, just for her, that reflects how much he loved her. This gives a lot of comfort to their family.

Grandparents are very special people, and that's why A Book About Me has so many pages devoted to them. Not many children have the standard four grandparents, there are step grandparents who have been involved in their own parents lives since they were little. While there may not be a genetic link, there are links made of memories and shared experiences. A Book About Me has space for whomever you want to put in there.

Mother of 3

I am loving being a mother to 3.  Zoe is enjoying life on the outside and the girls are thrilled to  be big sisters.  They are very gentle and love giving her kisses.

Milestone Press and our products can be seen in the latest Bambini Directory.  It is very exciting. We have a full page ad.  A Book About Me, My School Days and the NEW The Master Plan look fantastic.  It is the first glimpse of The Master Plan, which is very exciting.  So consider it a sneak preview if you have purchased your Bambini Directory.

The latest is showbiz goss is that Angelina Jolie is pregnant with twins!!    Our books really suit the Jolie-Pitt clan. For the following reasons

1. Angelina adopted Maddox when she was single - we have pages that don't mention father.  You simply email us and we email the pages and you print at home using the spare pages at the back of the book.  This is also suitable for same sex parents.

2. Angelina adopted Zahara.  She would  have been able to use the "adoption pages"

3. Angelina gives birth to Shiloh.  Brad and Angelina would have had fun filling out the book as is, but removing the unwanted pages.

4. Angelina and Brad adopted Pax.  They would have filled the book as is and using the adoption pages, they may have needed extra siblings pages.......

5. Angelina is apparently pregnant to twins, apparently conceived with "assisted conception", and our book also has this page.

So the books really do suit the Jolie-Pitt clan, if only they had time to fill them out.

She's a beautiful Girl!

Yeah! It's a girl! Congratulations to Scott and Annabel on the safe arrival of Zoe Anna at 3.55 today the 29th April 2008.

A very healthy 8lb 2oz, which is amazing considering the tiny size of Annabel's belly. A beautiful name, and big sisters Emily and Georgia are very proud. I am also a very proud Aunty! I had to check my phone records, as Annabel called at 10.35am when she returned home after her midwifes appointment to say she was 4cm dilated, but not much was happening. When she called at 4.20pm I answered the phone asking "Are you 5 cm yet?" and she said I had a beautiful new niece. Very, very clever.

Almost ready!!

I am hoping to start my third A Book About Me tomorrow! I am due and am hoping that I go on time. I think that is everyone's aim, to go on due date or to go early.

Emily was born on her due date and Georgia was two days early.

I have my copy of A Book About Me packed in the hospital bag so I can get visitors to fill out the pages and I can start filling it out if I have time.

A Book About Me has been around for just over 2 years. As the books are filling up people may need additional pages, which are available and will be on the NEW website very soon. (You remove the screws to add pages)

I better get walking to see if that helps this baby arrive on time!!

Exciting Times at Milestone Press

Very exciting (but oh so busy!) times here at Milestone Press!

We are a couple of weeks away from launching our new website. We have changed the look, and most importantly added a lot of information, so that people can get a better idea of our books.

You will also see information about a new product we are launching. We showed it off at the Life inStyle tradeshow in Sydney to a great response. We will reveal more later, but rest assured it will feature the practicality that only parent's can appreciate, as well as the beautiful design that Milestone Press is synonymous with.

More soon!

Georgia turns 2

We had a fun weekend, we celebrated Georgia turning 2!! She had a lovely day and enjoyed her icecream cake very much. She received lots of presents and is very impressed with the Baby Annabell doll. It sucks on its bottle, cries real tears and goes to sleep. She loves it. She often passes it to me for me to get it to sleep.....hopefully she will know what to do within 5 weeks as my priority will be getting the new baby to sleep, not a doll.

My pregnancy is going well. I am almost 35 weeks and am getting ready for the new arrival.

30 weeks today

I am 30 weeks today and am looking forward to the next 10 weeks. I am a little nervous about having a newborn again but am looking forward to meeting the new addition to the family. Emily is very excited about her "surprise" sibling and I think Georgia will probably be a little upset, but that is life :)

I was given a tip the other day for using the blank pages in the back of the book. Copying down the SMS messages that you receive. I thought that this was a great idea. Funny enough I still have the sms's from Georgia's birth in my phone (She turns 2 in March).

My School Days has been featured in the Kids on the Coast Magazine on both the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast, which has been great. Both books were also featured on the Single Parents Bible magazine.

A Book About Me has been on the market for 2 years and we are thrilled that people are emailing for stockists for a copy for their second child.

Ben's School Days have started

My eldest son Ben started school last week. He did a Transition Prep year last year, so was used to school uniform and routine, but it was lovely taking him to the school were he will be for all of his primary years.

So like any good mum, I took the photo so I could paste into his copy of My School Days. I have been waiting to do this since last April when the first books arrived. I am a bit disappointed though, as I will probably wait until the end of the year to complete the rest of his Prep years. It is way too early to tell who his friends will be and what he like most and least about school.

I have included a copy of the photo I pasted in, plus a spare with his cheeky green I added to the pocket. Congratulations on another important milestone Ben, and may all your school days be happy days! Fiona

Happy New Year

Well Milestone Press is roaring into gear for 2008. A huge advantage of working for ourselves is that we can take holidays when it suits us, rather than whichever company we are working for.

This year, we are taking the pressure off Annabel's garage and we are storing our books at a warehouse. We email them orders and then they ship them off. My lounge room just won't look the same without 20 cardboard boxes in it..... Needless to say our husbands are thrilled. It also frees us up from this 'menial' task and allows us to focus on building the business. Speaking to stores, handling customer enquiries, strategising what to do next (and next after that!). Very exciting times.

Susan D'Arcy is a talented Melbourne photographer who took some gorgeous photos of Monica and Georgia when they were babies. The photo of Georgia is on the top right hand corner of the second edition of A Book About Me. She recently took some family photos for me, and managed to get some beautiful ones, where all five of us had our eyes open at the same time. A miracle worker!! When I saw the slide show with all the photos that did my beautiful children justice I got all teary. Our trusty Sony digital does a good job, but there is nothing like professional photos. She is running a competition giving away one of two copies of My School Days - check it out at www.susandarcy.com.au/myblog/competition - Fiona
